The Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) warns about the product Percita vital plus. It is offered, among other places, on the website powervital.eu as a dietary supplement for a better sex life. Laboratory analysis has shown that this product contains the substance sildenafil. Sildenafil is prohibited in dietary supplements and poses serious health risks. The NVWA advises not to purchase these pills and not to use them.

The product is marketed as natural, with safe and effective ingredients to boost libido. The harmful ingredient is deliberately omitted from the label. Sildenafil is only permitted in approved medicines prescribed by a doctor. These medicines may only be used under medical supervision because of the risk of side effects and conditions. Possible side effects include: chest pain, headache, stomach complaints, muscle pain, dizziness or blurred vision. In combination with certain heart‑patient medicines, this substance can cause dangerously low blood pressure.
Anyone who has used the product and experiences side effects should consult a physician. Side effects of these products can also be reported to the Lareb Adverse Reaction Centre.
Report sellers
The NVWA strongly advises consumers not to buy such products via the internet or social media. Often these products are sold on websites outside the Netherlands, where the NVWA cannot exercise oversight. Anyone who still encounters such products on the Dutch market is asked to report them to the NVWA.
